Andrew Bauer, 24 years old, died from injuries he sustained during an explosion at the Triumph Foods plant
in St. Joseph, Missouri during the construction of the plant. A number of other workers were injured in the
explosion. Andy's mother, Melinda Fisher, was the plaintiff. Defendants in the case included the plumbing contractor,
IHP Industrial, who failed to cap a valve which allowed natural gas to escape into the plant; Triumph Foods, the
owner of the plant; Epstein & Sons, the construction manager and architect and Missouri Gas Energy, the natural gas
supplier.
